Prostate Cancer

Prostate Cancer

Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers in men. Every year, doctors in the Czech Republic diagnose approximately 8,000 cases of this disease. If the malignant growth of the prostate (prostate gland) is detected in time, the tumour is usually easily treatable.

With the PSA test, we are able to detect prostate cancer at an early stage. An increased level of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) in the blood, which is a protein produced by prostate cells, is one of the indicators of prostate cancer, but it may also occur in some benign diseases of this part of the male body, such as prostatitis or benign prostatic hyperplasia.
