We offer you the opportunity to meet our experts individually, within the initial consultation, during which our physician will provide you with information on the proton therapy, study your medical records, and, following a discussion with you, determine whether proton therapy is suitable for you.
The initial consultation is the first step to proton therapy and no preparation is required for it. The only thing you can prepare are questions for which you would like to find answers.
In order to make the right decision, you need to have sufficient information about your disease as well as the benefits and possible risks of not only proton therapy but also other available therapeutic methods.
Our physicians will be fully available to you, they will carefully evaluate your condition, and will recommend the best therapeutic method for your disease.
The consultation – the initial examination at the Proton Center – takes approximately 30–40 minutes. If you have more questions and queries for the physician beyond the time frame for an initial consultation, don’t be afraid to continue the discussion with the doctor. We will be happy to extend the time of your consultation on site.

If the doctor recommends additional diagnostic examinations (in particular MRI or PET/CT scans) based on the initial consultation, we will be able to arrange these examinations directly at the Proton Center with very short appointment times.
For other examinations, we will make an appointment for you with a collaborating medical institution, or will recommend where you should go.
Your initial examination and possible diagnostic tests prescribed by your physician will be followed by careful planning of your treatment, and your personal coordinator will help you with this.
Our team of experts will create an individualised radiation plan modified specifically for your needs. This will be followed by the treatment itself, which consists of outpatient procedures without the need for hospitalisation.
Unfortunately, proton therapy cannot be administered if you have an implanted pacemaker.
Similarly, you cannot undergo proton therapy for prostate cancer if you have metal hip replacements.
Proton therapy is not suitable for some cancer types, such as, in particular:
tumours of the eye, larynx, pharynx, vocal cords, thyroid glands, small cell lung cancer, skin tumours (e.g. melanoma), leukaemia, tumours of the stomach, small and large intestine, kidney, bladder, female reproductive organs, testicular tumours, certain central nervous system tumours, and generalised diseases with metastases.
